Plastic Color Waste Optical Sorter Automatic Plastic Bottles Sorting Machine for Waste
Working principle of waste plastic color optical sorting machine:
Light source system: LED array or halogen lamp is used to emit a stable light source covering visible light to near-infrared band (400-1100nm), irradiating the waste plastic particles/fragments evenly arranged through the vibrating feeder to produce reflected or transmitted light.
Image acquisition: The optical lens group focuses the light signal to a high-resolution sensor (CCD/CMOS or photodiode) to capture the color, texture, shape and spectral characteristics of the material in real time (different plastics have different reflection/absorption characteristics of light).
The core advantages of waste plastic color optical sorting machine:
1. High-precision sorting to improve the purity of raw materials
Using high-resolution image sensors and advanced algorithms, it can
identify micron-level color differences and material
characteristics, and the removal rate of mixed color particles is
≥99%. The purity of the material after sorting is significantly
improved, meeting the production needs of high-end recycled
plastics (such as food-grade PET recycled particles).
2. Efficient automation, reducing labor costs
The processing capacity can reach more than 30kg/h (depending on
the model), which is far higher than the efficiency of manual
sorting, and can run continuously for 24 hours, reducing manual
participation, labor intensity and labor costs, especially suitable
for large-scale recycling scenarios.
3. Intelligent operation and strong adaptability
Equipped with an intelligent touch screen and remote monitoring
system, it can customize sorting parameters (such as color
threshold, material type), adapt to waste plastic materials from
different sources (such as PET, PE, PP, PVC, etc.), support
simultaneous sorting of multiple categories, and high flexibility.

Plastic color optical sorting machines (i.e. optical sorting machines) can be widely used for accurate classification of various waste plastic materials by virtue of their ability to identify material color, material and spectral characteristics.
1. Polyester (PET)
Applicable materials: mineral water bottles, beverage bottles, PET
sheets, PET films (such as edible oil bottles, carbonated beverage
bottles, etc.).
Sorting requirements: Separate transparent PET, blue PET, green PET
and printed/coated PET waste, and remove impurities such as PVC and
PE.
2. Polyolefins (PE/PP)
PE materials: plastic bags, plastic films (such as agricultural
films, packaging films), milk bottles, detergent bottles, etc.
PP materials: plastic turnover boxes, injection molded parts (such
as bottle caps, lunch boxes), woven bag fragments, etc.
Sorting goals: distinguish white PE, black PE, colored PE by color,
or separate PP from PE, PVC and other materials.
3. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Applicable materials: PVC pipe fragments, soft PVC films (such as
wire sheaths), PVC plastic sheets, etc.
Note: The spectra of PVC and PET, PE and other materials are
significantly different. The optical sorter can efficiently remove
PVC impurities from mixed waste (because PVC contains chlorine, it
needs to be treated separately during regeneration).
4. Other plastic materials
Polystyrene (PS): foam plastics, disposable lunch box fragments,
etc.;
Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS): home appliance shell
fragments, toy plastic parts, etc.;
Polycarbonate (PC): CDs, eyeglass lens waste, etc.
Application scenarios: Identify specific materials in mixed plastic
waste (such as removing PS from ABS), or classify by color (such as
transparent PC and colored PC).
